Raintree Lake was created in the 1970s, one of six major man-made reservoirs in and around Lee's Summit. Planning of the Raintree subdivision began during the development of the neighboring Lakewood community, a joint venture between Farm & Home Savings Association as lender and Astro Building Corporation - Wilmer Andes and Paul Roberts - as developers. source
